RHEL Systems Administrator

CeLeen, an operating group of Command Holdings, is seeking a Systems Administrator for a contract within the Department of Defense (DOD) at USTRANSCOM in support of Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) Enterprise Support.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and / or equipment. The systems engineer will also provide quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products.

Expected Salary range : $72,000 - $92,000

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
• System vulnerability remediation and reporting.
• System configuration and compliance.
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX / Linux / RedHat based environments.
