The BELL / VALET ATTENDANT'S essential purpose is to provide assistance to guests and hotel departments, to transport and deliver luggage, mail, and other items around hotel property, to ensure comfort, and facilitate hotel.
To safely park and secure guest vehicles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- To understand and respond to all guests needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- To follow all specified procedures to provide personal, sincere customer services to hotel guests, including greeting and orientating arriving guests;
- assisting guests to and from their rooms, picking up and delivering amenities, laundry, mail, parcels, and other requested items;
giving directions, and assisting to arrange and provide guest transportation.
- To maintain a clean driving record free and clear of incidence of reckless driving, or excessive speeding citations and to provide, upon request, but no less than annually, a current DMV pull notice to the Bellman / Guest Services Manager
- To assist hotel departments, as requested, including mail and parcel delivery
- To actively promote the hotel's services and facilities to visiting guests.
- To be available to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION LEVEL : High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Valid California's driver's license required and must be at least 21 years of age.
Proof of personal automobile insurance coverage required. Current DMV record must be free of any incidence of reckless driving, or speeding citations.
Must be able to drive a car with a manual transmission. Must be familiar with the San Diego area, to direct and transport guests.
Previous hotel experience preferred.
SKILLS AND APPTITUDES : Detail orientated. Organized and efficient. Safety-minded. High quality standard of service. Diplomatic and calm.
Strong verbal communication skills. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Customer Service focused.
Able to work with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Stands and walks moderate to long distances throughout shift. Frequently required to handle and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
over moderate to long distances. May be required to carry objects up stairs . Bends, stoops, pushes, reaches, and lifts to perform routine tasks.
