Job Overview : A leading law firm in California is seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Attorney with a strong interest in representing public agencies and school districts.
This full-time position is based in Sacramento, offering a collaborative and supportive environment, with ample opportunities for professional growth.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience handling labor and employment matters, particularly in the public sector, and will be adept at navigating complex legal challenges on behalf of clients.
Duties :
- Advise public agencies and school districts on labor and employment law issues.
- Provide legal counsel on employee discipline, separations, and compliance with state and federal laws.
- Conduct investigations into workplace discrimination and harassment claims.
- Assist clients with navigating union negotiations and labor relations.
- Draft and review employment policies, agreements, and handbooks.
- Offer representation in administrative hearings and legal disputes.
- Stay informed of changing regulations affecting public sector employment.
Requirements :
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and employment law.
- Experience working with public school districts or other public agencies.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal labor laws, including employee rights and compliance issues.
- Proven ability to handle complex legal matters with a focus on client outcomes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Education :
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in California.
Certifications :
Active member of the California State Bar (required).
Skills :
- Expertise in labor and employment law, particularly in public sector matters.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
