Summary :
Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant is responsible for the smooth running of the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions with Shared Services, in addition to monthly closing, compliance and business support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Co-ordinate Accounts Payable function at the site with Shared Services, identifying process improvement and implementing solutions.
Manage Accounts Receivable function at the site, coordinating with other functions to resolve customer payment issues timely.
Prepare monthly closing journal entries and account reconciliations.
Prepare management reports and interpret data to improve decision making.
Review production order variances and investigate / eliminate root causes.
Prepare fixed asset business cases, forecast capital expenditure, and maintain the FAS.
Filing of tax and other government returns periodically.
Execute and improve SOX / business process controls and support site-wide adherence.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in an Accounting or Finance discipline.
Solid, demonstrable understanding of finance and accounting principles.
3 years in a finance / accounting environment.
Intermediate-level Microsoft Excel skills.
Working knowledge of an ERP system.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
5 years in a finance / accounting environment, with manufacturing experience.
Conversant with Power BI or similar tools to aid financial / operational reporting.
