Supply Demand Planner

SUMMARY OF POSITION : The Demand / Supply Planner is responsible for providing best in class demand / supply planning, forecasting, and SIOP process execution for the company.

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and coordinating the supply, material flow, and storage of inventory from the supplier to the customer, controlling the flow of materials and / or products to ensure arrival according to schedule and specifications to maximize efficiency, and working with various departments to ensure that customer requirements are met.

This role includes working with outside vendors to negotiate and coordinate delivery of required inventory and may also require coordination with customs agencies to ensure timely delivery / receipt of products.

A. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Regular Functions include :

Based on customer demand, creates, adjusts and monitors SKU-level supply planning to support annual operating plan while working cross functionally with Sales, Supply Base, Quality and Engineering utilizing existing demand planning software.

Helps to develop Sales & Operating Plan summaries including demand, inventory, and production data to be reviewed by SIOP team on monthly basis with ability to lead meetings.

Anticipates possible obstacles in meeting customer orders and implements countermeasures as needed prior to it becoming a problem.

Reviews and expedites shortages under area of responsibility.

Provides timely order status & customer quote analysis to Customer Service, Sales and Shipping teams through daily reports, verbally or through reporting system in place.

Schedules purchases as required by the system promptly and ensure purchase orders are received in a timely manner.

Reviews and delays or cancels existing purchase orders as needed.

Assists with the purchasing of product, with guidance from the Director, to meet schedules and quality requirements.

Ensures SIOP metrics are met, including On Time Delivery, Inventory Turns, Supplier Quality, etc.

Obtains and incorporates feedback on performance to plan.

Other duties as required.

Periodic Functions include :

Create and coordinate purchase orders and expedite orders with Suppliers as needed.

Prioritize incoming material for any needed testing and expedite any urgent material through the receiving / inspection process.

Travel will be required (approx. up to 10%).

Leadership Responsibilities :

Project Management Capabilities along with Adequate Level of Presentation & Public Speaking Skills.

B. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and / or Experience :

Bachelor’s degree related in Operations / Supply Chain Management / Manufacturing or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years of experience in material planning and forecast utilization, including extensive analytical work and knowledge of MRP.

Good Experience with ERP Systems and planning software (Ex : SAP, Oracle, SIQ etc)

Exposure to requirements for Asia / Middle East and international rules with respect to export of inventory. (paperwork)

Professional / Technical Training and Skills include :

Professional level ability with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Must have advanced skills in Excel including working knowledge of pivot tables and data mining.

Experience with ERP software, Great Plains and RockySoft an asset.

Basic Math skills

Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Experience with ISO an asset.

Licenses and Certifications include :

Required CPIM Certification or equivalent Inventory & Production Management Certificate

Project Management certification from PMI or equivalent work experience required.
