Geolog is looking to hire a Base Technician in support to its operations in North America.
POSITION
The Field / Base Technician will be responsible for ensuring all installation of Geolog’s mobile laboratory on Drilling rigs onshore and offshore, maintenance of equipment is done as per Company requirements.
The position will report directly to the District Manager.
Responsibilities include, but not limited, to :
- Mobile Laboratory installation and equipment maintenance : To install, test, maintain, repair damaged equipment, to refurbish and control equipment returning to the base from the field.
- Field support : To be in regular contact with field operations for support and assistance, to train crew members on equipment maintenance, to give field equipment support and to perform equipment installation on drilling rigs when required.
- Store : inventory and warehouse organization, monitoring the level of spares and consumables
- Technical Documentation : to ensure the technical and Health & Safety documentation is complete and updated in the mobile laboratories in the field.
- The Technician would be expected to be responsible for the Monthly reporting and reporting directly to the operations teams.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associates Degree in Electronics or Instrumentation
- Minimum of 2 years’ prior experience as a technician
- Familiarity with Windows based software and hardware is required along with a basic understanding of electronics
- Able to pass a medical exam for working in the oil and gas offshore industry.
- Valid US Driving License
- Must be able to travel to remote work sites within the district and / or other areas.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Highly organized with ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
In addition to competitive hourly compensation rates, Geolog offers a benefits package including medical, dental, life and AD&D insurance as well as 401(K) with employer contributions.
