Position Overview :
Elliott Aviation is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upholstery Technician to join our Interiors team in Moline, IL. The Upholstery Technician will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and installing aircraft interior components including seats, panels, divans, and other soft goods. This role requires precision craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of materials to meet customer specifications and FAA standards.
Responsibilities :
Fabricate, upholster, and install interior components such as seats, divans, panels, and other soft goods.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
Cut, measure, and sew various fabrics, leathers, and vinyl materials.
Repair, re-cover, and finish seating and soft goods to match OEM and customer requirements.
Shape and install foams, coverings, and padding to ensure comfort and aesthetics.
Disassemble and reassemble interior components for maintenance or modification.
Operate industrial sewing machines, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with company and FAA standards.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to customer satisfaction.
Qualifications :
2+ years of upholstery or related experience (aviation upholstery preferred).
Strong sewing skills with experience using industrial sewing machines.
Ability to work with a wide variety of fabrics, leathers, foams, and composite materials.
Knowledge of blueprint reading and technical drawings.
Familiarity with FAA regulations and aircraft interior standards preferred.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
Team player with strong communication skills.
