Job Purpose

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts to load, unload, transport, or stack products to the warehouse or onto trucks for distribution to customers.

Key Responsibilities

The Forklift Operator will be assigned duties, based on organizational needs and priorities.

• Complete pre-trip inspections on forklifts
• Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility, to ensure timely and complete delivery
• Manually or mechanically load or unload products from pallets, skids, platforms, or other lifting and transport vehicles
• Position forklifts under, over, or around pallets, skids, or boxes, and secure material or products for transporting
• Occasionally weight products and record weight where necessary
• Interact with operations, warehouse and maintenance team members to maximize output and efficiency
• Perform other tasks as needed

• Prior two or more years of forklift (sit down and stand up) experience with a solid safety record, ideally in a fast-paced forklift environment
• Prior exposure to distribution desired, preferably in food service or meat distribution.
• Ability to move / lift 50 lbs various times over a 12 hour shift
• Willingness to work holidays and weekends as needed
• Willingness and ability to work in a warehouse with minimal temperature control exposed to local temperature variations (hold & cold)
