Overview
Reporting to the 1st Ops Manager this role is primarily responsible for operating Amada EMLK and de-nesting parts cut by the EMLK and metal finishing as needed, identifying and organizing the EMLK cut parts in a Just-in-time fabrication shop.
This position also may be required to assist other operators as a helper on key work or machine as required.
2nd shift - Monday through Friday 2 : 30p to 11 : 00p with Saturday overtime 10a to 3p
3rd shift - Sunday through Thursday 10p to 6a with Friday overtime 10p to 3a
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions :
Perform setups and operations on Amada EMLK Operator (Punch / Laser Combo)Check material thickness for accuracy and load material into EMLK stockerForm treads coming off of the EMLK that require it using Ermak Press BrakePerform assigned work to time standards and quality expectationsMay train others on set-up and operation of EMLKIdentify and solve machine alignment and cut condition problemsTroubleshoot Minor program errors independentlyApplies basic understanding of G and M codeBe willing to cross train across multiple laser platforms and cellsAccount for time and work completed via online computer data collection systemWork under limited oversightSafely operate a forklift or overhead crane to handle materials and completed work.
Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues.
Maintain performance log books on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance team.Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
- Should have strong Laser, Turret Punch or CNC machine operating background
- Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired.
- Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools.
- Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.
- Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
- Previous experience with overhead crane use is desired.
- Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
- Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.

- Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a highly technical environment. Perform setups and operations on CO2 Lasers and / or Turret Punch.
Can understand and program G and M code machine language.Previous experience with overhead crane use is desired.Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continuous improvement.
