As the Senior Environmental Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s environmental initiatives including working alongside third party vendors and environmental counsel to achieve company objectives.

This position will report directly to the Vice President, Transactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Oversee third party vendors in conducting environmental due diligence assessments for real estate transactions, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Phase II subsurface investigations.

Review historical land use records, regulatory agency databases, and environmental reports to identify potential environmental risks and liabilities for Link’s existing portfolio.

Oversee field investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling, vapor intrusion assessments, and asbestos surveys, as needed.

Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, legal counsel, and financial partners to evaluate environmental risks and develop risk management strategies.

Provide technical expertise and guidance on environmental issues throughout the due diligence process, including regulatory compliance, remediation requirements, and potential impacts on project timelines and costs.

Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to address environmental concerns and facilitate project approvals.

Stay current on emerging environmental regulations, trends, and best practices related to real estate development, and integrate this knowledge into due diligence processes.

Participate in negotiations, contract reviews, and other activities related to real estate transactions, ensuring that environmental considerations are properly addressed and documented.

Support ongoing compliance monitoring and environmental management efforts for existing properties, as needed.

Develop and implement environmental compliance policies, procedures, and protocols for all real estate projects.

Monitor and track environmental performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management and regulatory agencies.

Investigate and respond to environmental incidents, complaints, and enforcement actions, and implement corrective actions, as necessary.

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategies for minimizing environmental impacts and promoting sustainability throughout the project lifecycle.

Serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues and represent the company in meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.

In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, including but not limited to, NEPA, CERCLA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and RCRA.

Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including ASTM standards for Phase I ESAs and state-specific requirements for environmental site assessments.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to real-world situations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex environmental concepts to diverse audiences.

Professional certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) are preferred.

Experience working with environmental management systems (EMS) and conducting environmental audits is highly desirable.

Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results on time and within budget.

$118,000 - $125,000 represents the presently anticipated base compensation pay range for this position at Link.Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
