Project Staff Assistant (R24-53)The Professional Development Program (PDP) of the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College seeks a service-minded individual who is committed to performing high-quality work to fill a Project Staff Assistant position in PDP’s Public Service Workshops Program (PSWP) located in Albany, NY.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES : Under direction of the Department Manager or designee, the Project Staff Assistant will assist other PSWP staff in planning, coordinating, scheduling, and facilitating various training programs focused on the professional development needs of the Professional, Scientific, and Technical (PS&T) and Management / Confidential (M / C) employees in New York State (NYS).
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to : Planning, scheduling and monitoring the delivery of general professional workforce training classes, both in-person and virtual, using professional training and educational institutions.
Monitoring registration and planning enrollment efforts.Assisting with developing draft training descriptions and objectives.
Reviewing training outcomes and seeking improvements where needed, assisting other team members with training-related tasks, utilizing Access databases for reporting and the input of data.
Participating in programmatic meetings.Other duties as assigned to fulfill contractual obligations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting institution.
Minimum of two years’ work experience in a training, workforce development or similar, workplace environment.Working knowledge of NYS government and the State workforce.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Experience writing professional emails, proofreading, and preparing documents.
Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills.Ability to manage, prioritize and complete numerous tasks within established deadlines.
Attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in MS Office products.Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.

Ability to travel on occasion to training sites within NYS that may not be served by public transportation.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : New York State or other public sector workforce development experience.
