Position : Software Training, Support, and Testing Specialist
Location : Salt Lake City, Utah (The Frank E. Moss Courthouse will be going through a
seismic upgrade and major renovation until the fall of 2025. Therefore, this position will
primarily telework until completion with occasional visits to our temporary location).
Starting Salary Range : CL 27 $58,030 - $94,338 Starting salary commensurate with
experience, education, and qualifications.

POSITION OVERVIEW :
The software training, support, and testing specialist position is part of our nationally supported
CHAP project. CHAP is a Chambers calendaring program available for up to 350 bankruptcy
court Chambers. The incumbent will conduct in-house and onsite training for CHAP end users
and IT staff. The incumbent will develop, prepare, and update training aids, training materials,
and on-the-job manuals in coordination with the technical writer. In addition to classroom
training, the incumbent will utilize other training methods such as computer-based training, self-directed web training, web-based guided classrooms, and video presentations.
The incumbent will also provide first-line customer support answering CHAP help desk calls, identifying issues or new functionality needed to address support calls, and write up detailed software change requests for the CHAP developers to use in modifying the software.
If the change request is approved for implementation by the CHAP User Group, the incumbent will guide the change request through the agile development cycle, participate in software testing processes, and help ensure the new functionality is documented in the appropriate manuals.
This position will require some travel.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum experience and / or educational requirements include the completion of the
requirements for a bachelors degree and superior academic achievement or progressively
responsible experience in or closely related to the position's work that has provided the
knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position's duties successfully. Progressively
responsible experience includes 1) conducting software application training, 2) developing,
preparing, and updating training aids, training materials, and on-the-job manuals, 3) providing first-line customer support on software issues, 4) writing detailed software change requests, and 5) performing software testing.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with a wide variety of people. Ability to exercise mature judgment.
DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE :
The court is looking for a highly motivated, well-organized self-starter who can work both
independently and in a team setting. Communicators or trainers who can effectively express
ideas and concepts in writing and speech, and who can collaborate with clients, other Quality
Assurance support employees, and development teams. Proficiency in test management software and computer databases, familiarity with various testing tools and techniques, and the ability to select the appropriate tools for each project.
Quality Assurance testers who are creative and flexible thinkers capable of identifying errors, bugs, and glitches in software, have strong problem-solving skills, and possess the ability to document and troubleshoot issues.
Experience working in an Agile development environment, adapting to iterative processes, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
