Underwriting SpecialistLocation : Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy, providing various levels of flexibility while also ensuring that associates have opportunities to connect in-person.

Unless in a designated virtual-eligible role and specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, associates are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week.

Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process.The Underwriting Specialist is responsible for the preparation of underwriting manuals, financial statements, agreements and analysis of data.

How You Will Make an ImpactPrimary duties may include, but are not limited to : Prepares and maintains underwriting manuals.

Prepares financial settlements.Coordinates internal reporting related to settlements.Prepares ASO agreements, Stop Loss contracts and Financial Arrangement contract language.

Designs and delivers computerized reports of statistical and demographic data.Minimum Requirements : Requires a BA / BS in a related field;

Minimum 1 year of related underwriting experience or an approved Underwriting internship; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences : CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA or other insurance related courses preferred.Broad knowledge of benefits, contracts, and data sources preferred.
