Aerospace Quality Engineer-Level 1

Under general supervision and reporting to Quality Management in Quality Operations, the Quality Inspector is responsible for performing visual inspection operations including In-process, Final Inspection, and FAI’s as appropriate.

The Quality Inspector must be familiar with hand tools and inspection under magnification. The Quality Inspector will also assist in verification of test data and all other applicable data concerning components, and associated documentation and other duties identified by cognizant management.

Job Functions :

• Experienced quality individual in dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components
• Experience in performing FAI’s AS9102
• Experience with hand measurement tools
• Knowledge of CMM Inspection process
• Knowledge and experience in GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Knowledge and experience with blueprint interpretation
• Perform final inspection and receiving inspection (which includes dimensional, visual inspection, surface finish, and assembly inspection)
• Reads, interprets, and utilizes Quality policies, procedures, blueprints, and other documentation
• Process warehouse materials
• Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines / procedures to perform the functions of the job
• Support positive corrective actions and identification of root cause
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

• Experienced quality individual in dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components
• Experience in quality inspection in aerospace and defense field
• Experience in performing FAI’s AS9102
• Experience with hand measurement tools
• MS Outlook and Excel experience
• Knowledge and experience in GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Knowledge and experience with blueprint interpretation

• Valid driver's license and auto insurance required.

• Work in a team environment with strong communication skills (verbal and written); ability to interact via telephone and email with co-workers
• Remain seated for up to 5 hours at a time

Supervision Received :

• The work is performed under general supervision
• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Education and Skills (including certifications) :

• 3+ years’ experience as a quality inspector or technician
• 3+ years’ experience in an aerospace manufacturing facility
• 3+ years’ experience in inspection duties, FAI’s, GD&T, and blueprint interpretation
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
• Effective communication skills
• Detail-oriented
• Any combination of education and experience may be considered
• Prior practical experience and implementation of Quality inspection tools and equipment. Experience in RCCA, and problem-solving

Pay Range : $35-$45 hourly. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
