Job Summary
The Logistics Lead will supervise and oversee the transportation of surplus equipment, furniture,
packages, and freight throughout multi-campus locations. Respond to inquiries and / or complaints
regarding logistics services. Train, coach, and provide work direction to assigned team, including
setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay
recommendations.
This position will interact on a consistent basis with : warehouse staff, building managers, property
coordinators, vendors, contractors, and delivery customers. This position will typically advise and
counsel : Logistics employees and students. This position will supervise assigned logistics associate
staff.
Responsibilities
Duty 1 -
Lead and participate in the delivery of materials, surplus equipment, furniture, packages, and
freight throughout multi-campus locations, following GT guidelines and policies.
Duty 2 -
Supervise and lead the replacement and removal of all damaged furniture on GT Campus.
Oversee moving of heavy and / or fragile equipment.
Duty 3 -
Manage and inspect loading and unloading area frequently to ensure compliance with
Environmental Health and Safety standards. Educate Logistics staff on the Environmental Health
and Safety standards.
Duty 4 -
Sort and load packages on delivery vehicle; operate equipment used to load and unload
materials.
Duty 5 -
Maintain inventory records and produce inventory reports.
Duty 6 -
Prepare and submit appropriate paperwork and reports regarding delivery activity.
Duty 7 -
Lead in investigating and resolving customer inquiries and / or complaints regarding logistics
services.
Duty 8 -
Assume accountability for all equipment and furniture maintained in the Logistics Warehouse.
Duty 9 -
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma
Other Required Qualifications
Certification, License or Permits
Valid Georgia Driver's License
Forklift Certification through OSHA-certified training program
Required Experience
Minimum of 5 Years Experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of warehouse procedures, mailroom operation, and safety standards
Familiarity with package delivery computer software programs
SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of mailroom operations including receipt, sorting and distribution of mail. Skills in use of office and mail management software is required as is customer service and supervisory skills.
