We are in search of a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The role involves ensuring accurate processing and recording of employee payroll, preparing financial information, and providing excellent customer service to employees.

Responsibilities :
- Collect, calculate, and enter data to maintain payroll information
- Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages to prepare reports
- Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes as well as employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments to determine payroll liabilities
- Collect and analyze information to resolve payroll discrepancies
- Answer questions and fulfill requests to provide payroll information
- Follow policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report needed changes
- Keep information confidential to maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations
- Accomplish related results as needed to contribute to team effort
- Use Ceridian, Payroll, and ADP - Payroll skills to complete any other duties assigned to complete the job.
- Proficiency in Ceridian, Payroll, and ADP - Payroll software is essential.
- Must have a thorough understanding of payroll processes and regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail are required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with other departments and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, is expected.
- Demonstrable experience in payroll processing is desirable.
- Understanding of tax procedures and deductions is necessary.
- Ability to resolve payroll discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of payroll tax laws and wage and hour laws is required.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Professional certification in payroll processing would be an advantage.
- Must be highly organized and able to manage large amounts of data.
