Job Description

Construction Special Projects Project Manager

Our client is a reputable construction company specializing in a wide range of construction projects, including special projects that require unique expertise and attention to detail.

They are seeking a skilled and dedicated Construction Special Projects Project Manager to join their team.

As the Construction Special Projects Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a portfolio of specialized construction projects from inception to completion.

Your primary objective will be to ensure the successful execution of these unique projects, meeting safety, quality, budgetary, and timeline requirements.

You will provide leadership to project teams, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and apply your expertise to deliver outstanding results on specialized construction ventures.

Responsibilities :

  • Project Planning and Initiation :
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and stakeholders to define project goals, objectives, and specific requirements for specialized construction projects.

Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and procurement strategies.

Conduct thorough feasibility studies and constructability assessments to determine the most efficient and effective project approach.

  • Project Execution and Management :
  • Lead and manage project teams, including subcontractors, suppliers, and specialized tradespeople, to ensure the successful execution of special projects.

Coordinate all aspects of the construction process, including procurement, scheduling, budget management, quality control, and safety compliance.

Implement project controls and reporting mechanisms to track progress, monitor key performance indicators, and promptly address any deviations from project objectives.

Provide expert guidance on technical aspects of specialized construction, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is performed to specifications, resolve issues, and maintain a safe work environment.

  • Client Relationship Management :
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Understand client needs and objectives for specialized projects, and work collaboratively to meet or exceed their expectations.

Provide regular project updates to clients, addressing any concerns promptly and ensuring client satisfaction with project progress and outcomes.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration :
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and specialized subcontractors to ensure seamless project coordination and successful project outcomes.

Foster positive working relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Budget and Financial Management :
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control measures are implemented and expenditures align with approved budgets.

Monitor project financials, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and identifying potential risks or opportunities for cost savings.

Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely reporting of project financials.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on specialized or complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of specialized construction techniques, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially in unique construction scenarios.
  • Ability to manage multiple specialized projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
