Position Summary
We are seeking a Field Applications Engineer with experience or aptitude in the power electronics industry. The role focuses on selling into Server, Storage, Networking (SSN), E-Mobility, Transportation, Energy Storage, Industrial, Robotics, and Medical markets.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with the business development team to provide technical support to potential customers, clients, and distributors, leveraging resources to deliver optimal solutions.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Provide technical applications support for the Power Business Unit.
- Offer highly technical customer support, including creating application notes and white papers.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the power product range by working with product teams and MPS engineering.
- Assist in selecting and designing MPS / Calex products into customer systems.
- Collaborate with customers to resolve technical issues and accelerate design wins.
- Define future product concepts based on customer feedback.
- Work with the product department to understand roadmaps, products, and technologies.
- Suggest appropriate power products for customer applications and understand their technical requirements and future product roadmaps.
- Create applications collateral to support the promotion of power products.
- Collaborate with the MARCOM Team for literature and collateral.
- Work in customer labs to test and solve system issues during the design of MPS power supplies.
Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in a Field Applications Engineer or similar role
Strong technical background in power supplies.
Comprehensive bench skills and use of test and debug equipment.
Responsive, self-driven, and directed, with a strong sense of ownership.
Persistent and energetic.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to solve complex customer problems within timelines.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
30-40% travel availability.
Proficient in MS Office Tools, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must reside within a commutable distance to San Jose, CA, to attend in-person meetings and events.

Salary range for this role is $160,000 / year - $175,000 / year.
