Position Summary : Director of Nursing The Healthcare Department Administrator is responsible for establishing and implementing policies, procedures, standards, and goals.
They oversee staff and ensure efficient workflow. This role also has financial accountability. As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for leading the Nursing department and upholding the hospital's mission, vision, and objectives.
You will prioritize the needs of patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and the community. This position entails continuous assessment, improvement, coordination, and integration of department services and standards of care.
Additionally, you will be involved in timekeeping approval, employee evaluation, regulatory compliance, supply order approval, and strategic planning.
Special Skills : The ideal candidate must possess excellent decision-making skills and demonstrate accuracy in their responsibilities.
Proficiency in using a personal computer is required. This role involves frequent interaction with employees, physicians, customers, community members, and volunteers.
The ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a timely manner is essential. Supervises : Nursing staff. THE CANDIDATE FOR THE DIRECTOR OF NURSING POSITION WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree in nursing, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION : MSN MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : Five years of nursing management experience in a hospital setting with at least three years of supervisory experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE : Current Arizona Registered Nurse License. REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING : For Wound Care : Completion of wound care and hyperbaric therapy training from a nationally recognized provider.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS / REGISTRATION : For Wound Care - WOCN Responsibilities The ideal candidate has an active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence / practice.
They possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven leadership ability, operational proficiency in a hospital setting, and the ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession.
Qualifications Education : Required : Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN.
Preferred : MSN or master's in a healthcare-related field. Experience : Required : 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse / related position.
Certifications : Required : Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in the state of practice or policy;
