ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Accounts Payable Clerk for a company based in Decatur, AL . In this role, you will have the opportunity t o provide support to the c ontroller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department as it relates to the Accounts Payable Process .

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT AS WELL AS EXPERIENCE WITH SAP.

Pay Rate

$ 18- 20.00 per hour or more depending on experience.

Schedule and Hours

Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm.

Accounts Payable Clerk Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure correct approval, sorting, coding and matching of invoices / receipts .
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system , as well as c ontinuously improve payment processes .
• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment .
• Process check requests, reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies , as well as assist in month end closing.
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices , report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices, and charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice / expense reports and recording entries .

Accounts Payable Clerk Qualifications and Requirements

• Associate s degree in accounting preferred, experience working with accounting ERP systems , Microsoft office suite, as well as 3-5 years progressively responsible experience .
• Proven experience as an accounts payable clerk.
• Effective communication skills, encompassing verbal, written and presentation skills , a high degree of accuracy, and a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles .
• This position will be performed in an office setting so must have the ability to stay seated for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform other duties as required.

Job Type

Full-time , temporary to hire.
