Sr. Business Analyst, Insurance (Eatontown, NJ / Hybrid or Remote)
Responsibilities
- In this role you will be a part of a dynamic team that works closely with the business units to gain in-depth understanding of business processes and identify opportunities and strategies to improve business efficiency.
- Document business processes in a simple, clear, concise manner.
- Identify, recommend and deliver innovative solutions.
- Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards.
- Present requirements using standard templates and alternative views, such as visual analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or simulations, where appropriate.
- Document and organize the business need in the form of User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
- Facilitate ongoing requirements prioritization; perform project manager role for medium to large sized projects.
- Ensure other squad members have a clear understanding of the business need and requirements.
- Follow Agile and / or Kanban Practices with the use of JIRA and Confluence.
- Perform peer reviews of work products derived from requirements specifications to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly.
- Prepare and execute UAT test plans.
- Manage changes to baseline requirements through effective and appropriate application of change control processes and tools.
- Identify ways to reuse requirements across projects.
- Participate in development of project charters, including sizing the effort and cost benefit analysis.
- Mentor and oversee Interns and Trainees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years work experience preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual thinking and problem solving skills, multi-tasking abilities.
- Excellent Microsoft skills (Excel, Word and Visio).
- Excellent verbal, writing, interviewing, presentation and communication skills.
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
- Experience with Requirements / Change Management, Impact Analysis and Gap Analysis.
- Experience working with onshore / offshore teams a plus.
- Accident & Health or Property & Casualty Insurance experience a plus.
- Bilingual, in Spanish, preferred.
