Single Subject Credentialed Teacher - English
The Single Subject Credentialed Teacher (English) is responsible for delivering high-quality English language arts instruction to middle or high school students.
This role involves developing and implementing a rigorous curriculum that promotes literacy, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
The teacher will create a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to explore literature, develop writing skills, and engage in thoughtful discussions.
Key Responsibilities :
Curriculum Development and Delivery :
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and school curriculum.
- Teach various aspects of English language arts, including reading, writing, grammar, and literature.
- Use diverse instructional strategies to engage students and accommodate different learning styles.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance instruction.
Classroom Management :
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a productive learning environment.
- Monitor and support student behavior, encouraging positive interactions.
Assessment and Evaluation :
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
Professional Collaboration :
- Collaborate with colleagues, including other teachers, support staff, and administration, to enhance the educational experience.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and content knowledge.
- Engage with the school community through events, parent-teacher conferences, and other activities.
Student Support :
- Identify and address individual student needs, providing additional support or enrichment as necessary.
- Encourage a love of reading and writing, fostering students’ literary appreciation and skills.
- Support students in developing strong communication and analytical skills.
Qualifications : Education :
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or additional coursework in English Education is preferred.
Certification :
Valid Single Subject Teaching Credential in English for the state in which the school is located.
Experience :
- Previous teaching experience in English language arts, preferably in a middle or high school setting.
- Experience with curriculum development and integrating technology into instruction is a plus.
Skills :
- Strong knowledge of English language arts content, including literature, writing, and grammar.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
