URGENTLY Hiring a 2nd Shift TIG Welder for a Leading Manufacturer

Second Shift : Monday - Friday, 3 : 30 PM - 12 : 00 AM. Break / Lunch : 30-minute lunch plus two 15-minute breaks determined by the manager.

Pay : $20 - $30 per hour

Location : Kearny, NJ

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to complete welding of pre-fabricated assemblies and fabricate complex assemblies from blueprints.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in setting up welding machines unassisted for any process or material thickness, visually inspect completed welds for size and quality, and operate within the requirements of an ISO 9001 Quality System.

Responsibilities

• Complete welding of pre-fabricated assemblies
• Fabricate and weld complex assemblies from blueprints
• Setup welding machines unassisted for any process or material thickness
• Visually inspect completed welds for size and quality
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Participate in shop cleanup activities
• Use job routers to log time
• Operate within the requirements of an ISO 9001 Quality System

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of welding experience
• Proficient in GMAW and GTAW for welding aluminum
• Ability to read and understand WPS (welding procedure specification)
• Ability to use levels, squares, chalk line, angle finder, and other fabrication tools
• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret fractions
• Proficiency with basic hand tools (grinders, hammer, level,
• Ability to work effectively with limited to no supervision
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Union : IBEW Local Union 3 with a 45-day probationary period.

Benefits : Refer to the IBEW Local 3 Union Contract for all details on benefits. Medical / Dental / Vision / HRA / Annuity 6 months from the date of hire.

Vacation Time begins June 30th after 6 months of continuous employment. Sick Time begins after 1 year of continuous employment.

Mandatory Union Dues - $6 / week, $24 / month. Mandatory one-time $176 union application fee. 12 paid holidays.
