Job Title : Mechanical Lead (NGA)
Job Summary :
EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Mechanical Lead (ML) to serve as the lead technician for all mechanical systems at National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Washington facilities.
This position is at NGA headquarters in Springfield, Virginia. The Lead ME is an essential member of a team of dedicated and talented professionals in delivering a wide range of base operations support services - such as installation and facility operations, maintenance and repair;
workforce and security support; logistics support; and, project management, as well as others - at NGA facilities and sites located throughout the Washington National Capitol Region (NCR).
This position is covered by the CBA for Local .
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Serves as the principal technician responsible for the overall management and operation of the mechanical systems at all NGA Washington facilities and grounds.
- Supervises / advises mechanical technicians in troubleshooting / resolving mechanical system malfunctions.
- Ensures all preventive maintenance and repairs performed on mechanical systems and components are compliant with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
- Supports overall capacity management of mechanical systems to ensure capability is in balance with known and / or future demand requirements.
- Oversees the timely application of Government and local regulations, codes, standards, policies and procedures related to NGA mechanical systems operations and management.
- Working closely with the client and other stakeholders, gains an understanding of their needs and requirements and communicates them and the appropriate performance standards to the contract staff and supporting vendors.
- Establishes and maintains an effective relationship with the customer to achieve a mutually beneficial business relationship.
- Based on knowledge and experience, recommends ways to improve the full spectrum of the mechanical systems operations and services service delivery process to ensure high-quality goods and services are delivered on time and within cost.
- Keeps accurate documentation and when necessary, performs analysis of activities and processes to improve contract performance.
- Pro-actively seeks feedback from clients, attends meetings, submits reports, and assists both internal and external auditors and inspectors.
Qualifications
- Current Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
- Must possess and maintain a HVAC Journeyman License or higher.
- At least years of demonstrated experience with installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of commercial mechanical systems (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, compressors, pumps, motors, domestic water, etc.,).
- At least years of demonstrated experience with commercial boilers (natural gas and oil fired) rated at a minimum of horsepower.
- At least years of demonstrated experience with commercial control systems. Experience with Siemens and Honeywell Building Automation System (BAS), Square D / Schneider Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS), Kohler Generator Paralleling Control System (GPCS) and Trane Chiller Control System is highly desired.
- At least years of experience / working knowledge of : Commercial water treatment (non-potable) systems and operationBackflow prevention systems and operationsDomestic water and building sewage systems operationNatural Gas and diesel fuel distribution systems and operationRefrigeration systems (split and package) and operation
- Strong technical knowledge of all facilities maintenance and operations, including complex mechanical, plumbing and associated control systems.
- Highly developed leadership, management, supervisory, interpersonal, analytical and communication (oral and written) skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a diverse and dynamic environment with short notice taskings and under high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrated personnel management experience with both organic and subcontractor staff.
- Demonstrated experience working with labor unions and / or managing service employees working under the Service Contract Act.
- Knowledge and experience with the ARCHIBUS Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is highly desired.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
