Division Leader Aerospace & Defense
This leadership role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and performance of a division focused on aerospace and defense.
The position requires driving profitability, achieving operational targets, and fostering continuous growth. The Division Leader works closely with executive management to align the division’s goals with broader organizational strategies and leads a team in delivering top-tier service, product innovation, and customer satisfaction in the aerospace and defense sectors.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide strategic direction to the aerospace and defense division, ensuring alignment with company goals and promoting sustainable growth.
- Manage daily operations to meet productivity, quality, and safety standards within aerospace and defense-related manufacturing.
- Lead and mentor division staff, promoting a high-performance culture with an emphasis on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis, ensuring the division meets its financial goals.
- Build and nurture relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the aerospace and defense industry to drive customer satisfaction and identify growth opportunities.
- Identify areas for operational efficiency and implement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce costs, and boost productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, particularly those related to defense standards and safety.
- Set measurable goals for the division, monitor progress, and make adjustments to meet objectives when needed.
- Collaborate with other divisions and senior leadership to support broader organizational goals and initiatives.
Experience Required :
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the aerospace and defense industry.
- Strong expertise in financial management, including budgeting and forecasting at a business unit level.
- Demonstrated success in managing large teams and leading them toward achieving operational and financial objectives.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is preferred.
- Excellent client relationship management skills with a track record of driving business development.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working across departments.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in managing division or unit operations, with direct responsibility in the aerospace and defense sector.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret data and make strategic business decisions.
- Experience in aerospace and defense production environments is a must.
