The Electrical Designer will support the electrical design team by applying technical knowledge in preparation of complete design packages for construction to be used for construction.Responsibilities :
- Create electrical installation details, one-line diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, area classification, grounding, etc.
- Size and specify electrical equipment including raceways, fittings, panels, conductors, terminations, etc.
- Walk down a site, collecting all necessary information to perform design work.
- Collaborate with a design team of engineers, designers, and drafters to produce a complete drawing installation package.
- Occasionally support factory / site acceptance testing.
- Occasional field support of commissioning and / or troubleshooting electrical equipment.
- Interpret and apply NEC and other electrical-related codes and standards.
- Utilize 2D or 3D computer aided design software, such as AutoCad, to create electrical design drawings.Education / Experience :
- 5+ years of progressive experience as an Electrical Designer.
- Practical field experience with the installation, evaluation, testing, and commissioning of various medium- and low-voltage electrical equipment is a plus.
- Electrical technician experience (manufacturer, in plant or contractor) is a plus.Perks :
