Job Overview
The strategic sourcing specialist is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing the procurement process to ensure the best value, quality, and service for the organization.
This role requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
This position is ideally located in Chicago, IL.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Develop and execute best in class sourcing strategies to support business objectives.
Develop and maintain a pricing matrix for review and lead cost reduction initiatives to optimize inbound supply chain.
Improve and execute supply base management strategies, including supplier performance management.
Drive cost transparency and build total cost of ownership models to support sourcing decisions.
Develop strategies and identify key suppliers that align with company needs.
Analyze market trends, costs, and pricing and integrate research into sourcing strategies that optimize product cost, availability, and quality.
Manage supplier agreements, contracts, and audit records.
Identify opportunities for supplier rationalization and consolidation.
Negotiate with suppliers to optimize cost, payment terms, lead time, and supply continuity.
Track and report key metrics and performance indicators.
Conduct supplier performance reviews.
Act as liaison between suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure effective communication.
Work as a team member and collaborate cross functionally with other departments.
