JobSummary :
We are seeking an experienced anddetailoriented InHouse Paralegal to join our residential propertymanagement team. The ideal candidate will provide legal support tothe General Counsel and the property management team ensuringcompliance with federal state and local regulations.
This roleinvolves handling a variety of legal tasks including documentpreparation lease review tenant disputes and propertyacquisitions.
KeyResponsibilities :
LegalDocumentation and Research :
Draft review andrevise leases contracts and other legaldocuments.
Conduct legal research on property managementlaws and regulations.
Prepare legal memoranda andreports.
Lease Management :
Review andensure the accuracy of lease agreements.
Assist in thenegotiation and preparation of lease renewals andamendments.
Maintain and organize lease files andrecords.
Compliance and RiskManagement :
Ensure compliance with all applicable federalstate and local laws and regulations.
Assist in thedevelopment and implementation of compliance policies andprocedures.
Monitor and manage potential legal risks andliabilities.
Tenant Relations :
Assistin resolving tenant disputes and complaints.
Coordinatewith property managers to handle eviction processes and othertenantrelated legal matters.
Provide legal support duringtenant litigation.
Property Acquisitions andDispositions :
Support the legal aspects of propertyacquisitions and dispositions.
Assist in conducting duediligence for property transactions.
Prepare and reviewclosing documents.
AdministrativeSupport :
Maintain and organize legal files andrecords.
Schedule and coordinate meetings hearings andother legal proceedings.
Assist with special projects andother duties as assigned by the GeneralCounsel.
Qualifications :
Bachelorsdegree in Paralegal Studies Legal Studies or a relatedfield.
Paralegal certification from an accreditedinstitution.
Strong knowledge of federal state and localproperty management laws and regulations.
Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills.
Strongorganizational and time management skills.
Proficiency inMicrosoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
Abilityto handle confidential information withdiscretion.
Strong attention to detail andaccuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of ateam.
PreferredQualifications :
Experience with propertymanagement software.
Familiarity with eviction processesand tenant litigation.
Strong negotiationskills.
WorkingConditions :
Typical office environmentwith occasional travel to properties and courtappearances.
Ability to work under pressure and meettight deadlines.
