Responsibilities
Perform patient sonographic examinations
Mentor technical development of co-workers and students
Ensure efficient handling of patient, associate and equipment issues
Participate in quality initiatives and offer suggestions for departmental improvements
Ensure computer data is correctly entered for each procedure
Ensure exam rooms are clean, neat, stocked and disinfected and that equipment is ready for the next patient
Practices the I-CARE PROMISE at all times
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :
- Graduate of a Joint Review Committee-approved Radiologic Technology and / or Sonography program or equivalent
- 3 years prior sonography experience preferred
- Abdomen and OB / GYN certification desirable for Radiology
- Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (S) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (CCI)
- Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain
- Computer-related skills deemed pertinent for optimal technical performance
- Ability to report to the department within 30 minutes when on call
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Able to walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift throughout their shift.
- Able to move, lift, or position patients as required.
- Able to push necessary equipment, wheelchairs, stretchers, beds and other movable devices.
- Dependable and flexible in relation to covering required shifts.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted, several times per day.
- Able to wear lead aprons for extended periods of time.
MENTAL DEMANDS :
- Able to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment.
- Able to respond to life threatening situations.
- Ability to multi-task.
