We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager with experience in civil engineering or construction management and 2-3+ years of experience in New Jersey commercial / industrial project management.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in site work, problem-solving, and managing multiple projects, particularly in warehouse, big-box, and tilt-up construction.
Proficiency with Procore, estimating, and contract preparation is essential.
You will manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, participating in design-build project planning, design programming, and development of project outline specifications.
You will oversee the project design team to ensure design completion in line with specifications and overall project goals.
Responsibilities include managing construction and closeout on assigned projects to meet budget, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
Additional tasks include preparing estimates, coordinating project bidding efforts, generating scopes of work, and handling subcontractor contracts and change orders.
You will manage the submittals process, monitor project costs, and obtain local municipality approvals. Communication with the job site superintendent and maintaining relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal personnel are crucial.
You will also manage supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve methods.
Compliance with federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations is required. Consistent business email monitoring is necessary during and after business hours, as well as on weekends and holidays to address significant issues promptly.
