Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Principal Data Scientist - 12741 . This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, California and will support the Sentinel program.
Experienced data scientist / Data science professional responsible for production of analytics dashboards using BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
The candidate is responsible for the following :
- Analyze multiple data sources in detail to identify trends and patterns using engineering fundamentals.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Understand and apply basic UX / UI fundamentals to improve user experience and consumption of large amounts of information from multiple datasets.
- Summarize and socialize data, make conclusions and provide direction on problems identified.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend core technologies and strategies.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Capable of peer reviewing and applying more advanced visualization concepts.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9 / 80. The 9 / 80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Job Qualifications :
You'll Bring These Qualifications :
- Principal Data Scientist : 05 Years with Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study; 03 Years with Masters; 00 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
- Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Knowledge of data gathering, cleansing and transformation techniques.
- Business Intelligence and Data Visualization experience using tools like Tableau, Cognos, or Power BI.
- Experience with SQL database platforms e.g., Microsoft SQL Server / PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with ETL tools such as SSIS, Alteryx and Tableau Prep.
- Familiarity with common data science toolkits such as Python / R.
- Knowledgeable in UX / UI.
- Experience with version control tools such as GitHub / GitLab / Gitbucket.
- Understanding of Agile Software Development.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have :
- Expert knowledge of Business Management reporting & Earned Value.
- Expert knowledge of Business Management systems like COBRA.
- Expert of SAP to COBRA integration methodologies.
Salary Range : $118,000 - $177,000
