The ideal Medical Referral Coordinator will work well with others as they will work as part of a healthcare team striving to provide patients with the best care possible.

- $16.00+ DOE per hour (Paid Weekly!)

DUTIES :
- Perform general office duties that require proficiency in communication and organizational skills
- Provide great customer service
- Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize work
- Have computer skills and software aptitude
- Communicate effectively with insurance providers, referral sources, HTMG providers, and associates on any issues or any in need of further follow-up
- Insurance coding and medical terminology
- Maintain ongoing tracking and documentation for hospital admissions
- Generate and maintain a working hospital census for providers and case managers
- Process a high volume of referrals to ensure timely transmission and start of services
- Obtain hospital medical records from portals
- Perform other related duties as indicated by department needs or when requested by the manager
- Inspire and collaborate with the staff the ability to be a team player
QUALIFICATIONS :
- High school diploma or GED equivalent or equivalent required
- Have a Medical Office Specialist certificate or equivalent front desk medical office experience
- Minimum of one year in the health care industry working in a medical office
- Minimum of one year of experience and knowledge of processing specialty physician care and ancillary service referrals (preferred)
- Must have knowledge of commercial and managed care insurance plans. ICD-9 and CPT coding are preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, both oral and written
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with electronic practice management systems
