LHH is partnering with a high-growth professional services firm that is located in Irving, TX. They are on the hunt for an Assistant Controller to join the team and act as a leader within the organization.
This individual will be responsible for assisting in the financial management and reporting processes, working directly with the Controller to accomplish financial goals.
This organization is 100% in-office and we are targeting a base salary of $115,000 - 120,000 (dependent upon experience).
Responsibilities :
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Collaborate with the Controller to analyze financial data and provide insights for management decision-making.
Participate in the development of annual budgets and forecasts for construction projects and the overall company.
Monitor and report on budget variances, providing explanations and recommendations for improvement.
Oversee the general ledger accounting activities, ensuring proper coding, documentation, and reconciliation of accounts.
Implement and maintain accounting systems and procedures to streamline financial processes.
Contribute to the development and enforcement of internal control policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct periodic internal audits to identify and address potential financial risks.
Manage cash flow by monitoring receipts and disbursements, optimizing working capital, and recommending strategies for improvement.
Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections.
Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards applicable to the construction industry.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, reporting requirements, and industry-specific financial regulations.
Work closely with project managers, procurement, and other departments to gather financial data and ensure accuracy in project costing.
Provide financial insights and support to management during decision-making processes.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation preferred.
Previous experience in accounting or a related industry.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
