Opportunity Summary

The Assistant Controller is responsible for examining, analyzing, interpreting, and maintaining accounting records for the purpose of providing advice and / or financial consolidation for preparing financial statements at NAES Corporation.

Meet deliverables and deadlines, training, performance management, and development of accounting team under supervision.

Work to ensure accuracy and integrity, interacting with business leaders, executives, and the company’s shareholders.

Primary Duties

  • Direct and manage corporate accounting functions to ensure compliance with US GAAP, JSOX, and internal policies
  • Participate in corporate consolidation activities and serve as point of contact for assigned divisions or subsidiaries
  • Participate in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate period-end closing
  • Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, in coordination with the Tax Program Manager, including Federal, State, and Foreign income taxes, and resolve related tax inquiries
  • Oversee general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation and resolving audit inquiries
  • Ensure adherence to strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policies and procedures, financial reporting, and tax regulations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Manage and develop accounting staff by providing guidance, training, and performance management
  • Work with cross-functional teams on financial reporting and compliance matters
  • Maintain and update accounting procedures, policies, and process control documentation
  • Effectively communicate with internal staff, management, external auditors, compliance authorities, professional advisors, and shareholder on accounting and tax matters

Working Relationships

The Assistant Controller will have 2-3 direct reports within the corporate accounting group. Reporting to the VP, Group Controller, the Assistant Controller interacts frequently with others within the organization and leadership group, as well as the finance group.

Coordinate with third-party firms and consultants on outsourced matters as needed.

Work with tax professionals and stakeholders across the NAES group to provide guidance on tax matters. Assist in reporting to parent company accounting and tax departments on consolidation matters.

Job Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent
  • Years of Experience : Five years of experience working in multiple facets of accounting or financeThree years of experience managing teams or employees within multiple work processesExperience with large data, complex workbooks and ability to decipher trends quickly
  • Preferred Experience : Experience with J-SOX / US-SOX
  • Licenses / Certification : CPA (Preferred)
  • Software / Equipment Knowledge : Accounting software and Microsoft Office SuiteD365, One Stream, & Atlas
  • Other Considerations : Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholdersAble to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to understand, interpret and operationalize accounting standards and guidanceStrong technical knowledge of U.

S. GAAP, IFRS, U.S. Federal and multi-state tax, and international tax concepts and compliance best practicesAble to work independently to organize and prioritize demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with competing demandsUnderstanding of operational risk drivers to the financial statements

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Normal working hours are 8 : 00a.m. to 5 : 00p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional time may be required during periods of high workload or major projects

Compensation

The initial starting annual compensation will range from $123,400 to $141,900 based on experience and qualifications.

Fit for Duty

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.

There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
