Job Description : The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing installation requirements, technical information, airframe production installation / fabrication drawings, engineering instructions, and related production guidance materials as it pertains to the mechanical and structural aspects of a modification program.
Will serve as Engineer for DoD and FAA aircraft modification programs and prepares detail, assembly, and installation drawings.
Will develop 3-D models and 2-D drawings to support the installation of mechanical and structural provisions. Will participate in engineering design feasibility studies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Lead and support technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems and thermal environment to establish the system design.
- Lead and support activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements.
- Lead and support the assessment of system components' designs.
- Track performance and documentation of analyses of mechanisms / ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design.
- Participate in interface requirement and design development.
- Participate in Technical and Interface Control Working Groups with the customer and suppliers.
- Supports Risk and Opportunity processes and working groups.
- Perform coordination of system-level technical reviews.
- Perform resolution of cross-functional technical issues.
- Supports trade studies and whitepaper development.
- Train and coach less-experienced engineers.
