Responsibilities
BASIC PURPOSE : Promote and sell Regent Seven Seas Cruise sailings to direct customers by handling inbound and outbound calls.
The Personal Travel Consultant's goal is to drive greater profitability in sales and service while building first time customer business along with creating repeat customers.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide detailed information to passengers as it relates to cruise reservations, including but not limited to payment requirements;
cancellation policies; air, hotel, transfers, land programs, shore excursions; and shipboard services.
- Learn and retain complex information regarding each sailing and ship.
- Obtain accurate and necessary authorization for payments and ensure confidentiality and security measures are in place, ensuring RSSC policy and procedures are adhered to.
- When necessary, provide travel requirement information including customs regulations, required papers (passport, visas, and certificates of vaccinations), and currency.
- Utilize salesforce.com to attain accurate client database and follow outbound call processes.
- Consistently follow up with guests to close options, payment requirements, rebooking opportunities, and other sales opportunities.
- Provide advice on destinations and make arrangements for transportations, hotel accommodations, shore excursions, and recreation.
As well as advise on weather conditions, restaurants, and tourist attractions.
Perform other job related functions as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE :
EDUCATION : High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE : Minimum 6-month sales experience in cruise, travel or hospitality industry.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS : Must have a great and positive attitude. Able to meet deadlines and work within a fast paced, multi-tasked environment.
Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail and sense of urgency. Proactive work ethic and team player who is also able to work independently to build and maintain client relationships.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and colleagues.
Demonstrates teamwork and ability to handle difficult situations effectively. Proficient in MS Office applications including Power Point, Excel, and Word.
Working knowledge of SalesForce.com or CRM system preferred.
