The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the activities in the credit and collections department. Oversees the processing of payments, collections, deductions and verification of applications for credit terms approval.
Oversees the New Account Set-Up Process as well as closing accounts, 3rd Party Collections, and Bankruptcies.
Responsibilities
Supervises the activities in the credit and collections department.
- Supervises the credit and collections team.
- Develops and trains credit and collection leads and specialists.
- Oversees collection activities, 3
party collections, and bankruptcy filings.
- Defines and proposes process and policy for credit and collections functions on a regional level.
- Manages approval of credit risks, assessing credit history, and suggesting increases or decreases for extension of credit.
- Functions as subject matter expert for the credit laws established in each state.
- Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in credit and collections
- Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
- Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal / written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and / or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
- Analytic and Reporting skills
- Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Basic understanding of credit laws in each BBG state
- Excellent Excel skills
- Good personal credit history
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
