Bilingual Dispatcher / Scheduling Coordinator

Description : Our client is looking for a bilingual dispatcher (English / Spanish) with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
The candidate should have the ability to manage multiple tasks, resolve issues quickly, and ensure accurate scheduling and compliance.
Proficiency in tracking and routing software, excellent customer service, and knowledge of transportation regulations are essential.
The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in the construction industry and sales, can work 10-hour days, and be on call for nights and weekends bimonthly.
Responsibilities
- Communication Skills : Effective communication is essential for coordinating with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills : Dispatchers manage multiple tasks, schedules, and routes simultaneously. Strong organizational skills help them prioritize tasks and ensure that everything runs smoothly.
- Problem-Solving Skills : The ability to quickly and efficiently resolve issues, such as delays, vehicle breakdowns, or route changes, is crucial for keeping operations on track.
- Attention to Detail : Accuracy in scheduling, documentation, and data entry is vital to avoid costly errors and ensure compliance with regulations.
Dispatchers must clearly convey instructions, provide updates, and resolve issues. Bilingual Spanish is required.
- Geographical Knowledge : A solid understanding of geography and familiarity with routes, traffic patterns, and weather conditions helps dispatchers make informed decisions.
- Technical Proficiency : Dispatchers use various software systems for tracking, routing, and communication. Being proficient in these technologies is essential for efficiency.
- Time Management : Effective time management ensures that dispatchers can meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and optimize routes for timely deliveries.
- Customer Service Skills : Dispatchers often interact with customers, addressing their concerns and providing updates. Excellent customer service skills help maintain positive relationships.
- Stress Management : The role can be high-pressure, especially when dealing with emergencies or tight deadlines. The ability to remain calm and focused is critical.

- Empathy : Ability to empathize with truckers and contractors’ issues and challenges and lend a listening ear.
Ideal Candidate :
- Minimum one year in the construction industry
- Ability to work 10-hour days when needed
- Ability to be on call (nights & weekends) bimonthly for one-week interval
- Minimum one year experience in sales
- Bilingual (Spanish is required)

Job Type : Full-time
Pay Rate : $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (DOE)
On Call : $300 / week
Expected hours : 40 45 hours per week
