WhoWe Are :
The Emergency Department ofSNHMC provides culturally competent care to the diverse populationof Southern New Hampshire with a 30-bed, critical care unit.
Inaddition to supporting the community as a Level III Trauma Center,and Primary Accredited Stroke Facility, the ED has taken proactivesteps to provide safe care to our psychiatric population throughthe implementation of a 6-bed secured intradepartmental unit.
Withincreased patient volumes and higher acuity, the ED is prepared toaccommodate additional patients through utilization of hallway bedsand a triage fast-track area.
We support and take pride inproviding numerous educational opportunities for our staff topursue board certifications and higher education in addition to theadvanced technical skills they provide, such as ultrasound guidedIV placement and arterial IV line management.
Our robust staff ofnurses, paramedics, LNAs and Health Unit Coordinators work 12-hourshifts around the clock to provide a continuous higher level ofcare to ourcommunity
About theJob :
As a member of the Patient CareServices team, the Emergency Services (ES) Registered Nurse caresfor pediatric and adult patients presenting with a variety ofillnesses, injuries or trauma.
The ES RN specializes in assessing,intervening and stabilizing patients in situations that requirecritical clinical decision-making skills.
The registered nursesuccessfully completes a competency based orientation program tobecome proficient in serving the Emergency Services patientpopulation.
WhatYou'll Do :
- Assess andimplements priority-based nursing care and establish goals to meetthe patient's needs.
- Integrate patient values,best practice, and evidence into patientcare.
- Engage patients and / or families in thecare delivery.
- Function competently within ownscope of practice.
- Utilize a communicationstyle / practice to meet the needs of the team and / or thesituation.
- Delegate care activities to patientcare team.
- Collaborate with other disciplinesto provide the patient with comprehensivecare.
WhoYou Are :
- Graduate from anaccredited school of nursing (ASN orBSN)
- Registered Nurse, licensed in the state ofNH
- Ability to achieve the followingcompetencies :
- Within 30 days : Basic Life Support
- Within 90days : Intravenous Therapy, Acute Stroke Management
- Within 180 days : AdvancedCardiac Life Support, Basic Rhythm Interpretation, Management ofCritical Care Medications and Infusions, Procedural Sedation &Analgesia
- Within 1 year : Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Emergency NursePediatric Certification
- Within 2years : Trauma Nurse Certification Course, TriageNurse
- Within 3 years : Advanced Stroke LifeSupport
