Payroll Specialist
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in West Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of multi-state payroll processing and compliance requirements.
Certification in payroll (e.g., CPP) and experience in the construction industry are highly desirable. This position involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our client’s employees across multiple states and handling certified payroll functions as needed.
This is a direct hire, onsite opportunity in Phoenix, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm. Compensation ranges from $55k - $65k, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on time for employees across multiple states, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll laws and regulations, especially those related to multi-state payroll processing.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of certified payroll reports as required for government contracts.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll processing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (preferred)
- At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on multi-state payroll
- Experience processing payroll through Paycom
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience with certified payroll processes is a plus
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Certification
Certification in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional - CPP) is highly desirable but not required.
Pay Details : $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
