Description
The Technical Service Representative will provide our customers material conversion technology support within Eastman's Corporate Innovation Technology Division in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Corporate Innovation Technology develops, grows, and matures new innovation growth platforms for existing Eastman business unit adoption.
Our customers serve numerous markets, including the food service and food packaging markets and use conversion technologies such as profile extrusion, foamed sheet extrusion, thermoforming, and injection molding.
Responsibilities
- Translate and effectively communicate material processing characteristics into conversion equipment requirements.
- Assist customers with equipment design, material processing, troubleshooting procedures and material handling when qualifying new materials, coordinating with 3rd party vendors to accelerate product qualification when necessary.
- Attend, document, and communicate internal and external trials to evaluate material processing.
- Identify & document industry and customer specific unmet needs and product fitness for use criteria.
- Provide technical product training to customers, distributors, and sales & marketing teams.
- Help develop technical marketing materials for customer engagement.
- Partner with Product Development team to deliver products meeting market needs and adding value to Eastman.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Engineering or related technical discipline required.
- 3 years industrial experience with plastic processing technologies & related secondary operations.
- Experience in polymer processing technology is required.
- Skilled at customer relationship development.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Comfort with considerable travel domestically and internationally.
