JOB TITLE : ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN II (ELECTII)

REPORTS TO : AIRCRAFT INTEGRATION SUPERVISOR
CLASSIFICATION : NON-EXEMPT
STATUS : FULL-TIME
Job Summary :
Under direct supervision, responsible for performing the full range of duties in electrical systems for aircraft installations.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after production.
- Install and maintain electrical control systems and equipment.
- Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.
- Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
- Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
- Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
- Write commissioning procedures for electrical installations.
- Prepare project cost and worktime estimates.
- Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria and recommend approval or disapproval.
- Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units.
- Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations.
- Plan, schedule and monitor work of support personnel to assist supervisor.
- Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material.
- Plan method and sequence of operations for developing and testing experimental electronic and electrical equipment.
- Maintain an expert working level knowledge of the practices associated with NAVAIR guidelines for electrical systems installations.
- Maintain an expert working level knowledge of the practices associated with FAA guidelines for electrical systems installations.
- Perform other duties as are necessary and / or required.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- 2-5 years of experience with electronic systems, electronics troubleshooting, electronic testing design, analyzing information, attention to detail.
- Active security clearance
- Must have knowledge of IPC / WHMA-A-620 certification.
- Recurring FOD training and awareness, upon hire and annually
- Ability to comprehend schematics and integration / installation drawings.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools or make adjustments and repairs.
- Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.
- Ability to traverse manufacturing facility
