About the Role : We are looking for a highly motivated associate to support the divisional machining and R&D operations in conjunction with the Western Cluster on first shift.
This role will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Responsibilities :
- Machine, repair, modify fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing aids
- Work closely with engineers, manufacturing, and shop associates to provide input on part / machine design and improvements
- Perform preventive maintenance of machine shop equipment
- Be committed to continuous personal development (current machining technology) aligned with current commitments and business needs
- Identify materials, parts, equipment, and time line required to complete jobs
- Be flexible to work in other functions to meet business needs
- Work flexible or extended hours when needed
Required Qualifications :
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program and a minimum of 2 years hands on machining, OR a minimum of 6 years experience in a machine shop (as opposed to production) environment
- Experience in programming and running of CNC mills and lathes, grinders, and manual shop equipment to make parts to exacting tolerances
- Experience in the use of a variety of hand tools, precision measuring instruments and the ability to maintain shop equipment and associated tooling
- Experience in CAD / Cam software
- Ability to deliver parts holding tolerances down to .0005
- Ability to produce machined parts from conceptual ideas, sketches, drawing packets, Solid Models, engineering specifications, or verbal input
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to work safely in a shop environment
- Ability to travel up to 5%
Desired Qualifications :
- Experience programming 4 / 5 axis mills and multi-axis CNC lathes
- Experience with CMMS, electronic work order system, and Mastercam / Solidworks
- Experience in mentoring and training machine shop associates
