This position is responsible for engineering electrical controls projects from design to commissioning. Primarily in the municipal water and wastewater industry.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Design electrical schematics for control panels, motor control centers, power distribution panels, and assorted wiring diagrams.
  • Create Bill of Materials for each project
  • Develop Control Narratives for the intended function of the project.
  • Read and follow project plans and specifications.
  • Support the control panel shop during the manufacturing process with design related questions.
  • Manage all project documentation per company standards and project specific requirements.
  • Communicate with customers throughout the design and construction phases of the projects.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering their professional development.
  • Understanding client needs and aligning engineering efforts to meet or exceed customer expectations

Qualifications :

10 years of experience in a project engineer role (or similar) including design, implementation, and project closeout. A strong background in electrical engineering is crucial for this role.

Understanding the technical aspects of electrical design as it relates to process automation of municipal control systems and being able to guide the team is fundamental.

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or 2-year Associates degree in Automation related field. Preferred but not required.
  • Experience with electrical CAD Software.
  • Being open to feedback, adapting to change, and guiding the team through transitions in projects or organizational structures.
  • Candidate must possess good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of co-workers, management, and clients.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Experience with project management, covering initial concept / proposal, design, implementation, and closeout.
