Summary :
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides leadership andoversight of operations for CHRISTUS Health Santa Rosa HospitalWestover Hills.
The COO is responsible for promoting the CHRISTUSHealth mission, core values and vision through effectiveoperational processes.
This leader is responsible for ensuringquality of care, service excellence, and community benefit andbusiness literacy according to the CHRISTUS Health strategy.
TheCOO is responsible for positive relationships and effectivecommunications with executives, directors, Associates, medicalstaff, sisters, community representatives and board members asappropriate.
The COO develops plans to implement care and servicesbased on community need and consistent with the CHRISTUS Healthstrategic plan.
The COO supports the CEO and fulfills theleadership role in the CEO’s absence.
Education :
Master’s degree in Health Administration,Business Administration, or other advanced health- orbusiness-related degree.
Experience :
- Progressive career experience as a senioroperating officer of a health care facility with experience that isbroad-based.
- Multi-hospital system experienceand Catholic health care experience arepreferred.
- The ability to interact withphysicians and leaders in the business community asnecessary.
- Must have strong understanding ofand demonstrate skill in leadership, strategic management, changemanagement, communications, team building, continuous qualityimprovement, and problem solving, decision-making, and innovation,financial management of operations and stewardship ofresources.
- Skill in establishing a balancedperspective on mission effectiveness and business results iscritical.
Skills :
- Excellent verbal and written communicationskills to communicate with a variety of individuals includingphysicians, the general public, volunteers, andassociates.
- Ability to motivateothers.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changingand stressful environment.
- Ability to makeindependent decisions as necessary.
- Ability tosolve management issues and direct numerous and variedoperations.
- Ability to plan, organize,develop, implement, and interpret the necessary programs, goals,policies, and objectives that are necessary for providing qualitycare and maintaining a sound operation.
- Knowledge of hospital and health care practices and procedures aswell as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to healthcare.
Licensure :
Preferred candidates will demonstrate interestand involvement in American College of Healthcare Executives as amember or a fellow.
