About the Role
In this role of Senior Legal Content Editor for , you will :
- Own the content strategy for and best practices for Spanish-language legal content
- Lead the development, optimization, and publication of Spanish language content for , including managing content calendars
- Assign content creation duties to appropriate team members and monitor performance and output
- Edit Spanish language informational content to help users find answers to their legal questions. Topics include family law, criminal law, personal injury, immigration and many other areas of law.
- Edit Spanish language content for legal accuracy, style, grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Train and coach employees and contractors; manage contractors with support from manager
- Collaborate with internal partners to optimize content performance and support overall business goals
- Report on the success of content and projects to manager and leadership
- Lead meetings for team members and partners
- Optimize content using best practices in tagging, keyword usage, title creation, content optimization, and basic SEO. Train team members on content optimization strategies as needed.
About You
We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills :
- Spanish language fluency, both written and spoken
- Professional editing experience in the Spanish language
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (required); JD or equivalent (preferred)
- Experience managing content for a major online publication or website
- Legal practice experience, paralegal experience or experience writing about legal issues highly desired
- Ability to write and editor content in a conversational, consumer-friendly tone, and a demonstrated ability to successfully write for the web
- Working knowledge of SEO best practices
- Working knowledge of major social media platforms and best practices
- A demonstrated ease in learning and adapting to new and complex technology
- Ability to work independently, including editing the work of others, prior to publication
- Experience providing constructive guidance to writers and a demonstrated ability to improve team member skills through ongoing coaching and feedback
- Experience working under tight deadlines
