We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercialization and Project Manager to join our dynamic team. Role serves as the interdepartmental liaison to ensure the organization’s resources are directed to specific tasks so that projects meet critical objectives and timelines.
The Commercialization Project Manager role will collaborate with all parts of the business to create ownership and accountability to timetables for new product launches;
reformulations, as well as to facilitate site build outs and R&D innovation projects through the commercialization process.
This role will standardize methods of working, processes and reporting throughout new product development, materials planning, demand and supply planning and quality approvals.
A successful Commercialization Manager owns the process from design concept all the way through the first shipment to a customer.
Once a product has successfully launched to a customer; the plant takes over the normal procurement, production and shipment of said products.
Responsibilities
Organize and distill projects and initiatives from high level conception to weekly tasks. Ensure that each task is assigned to the appropriate team member and ensure these tasks are completed within the established time frames.
Identify risks and facilitate communication between departments to ensure team members are up to date on project steps and any changes throughout the stage gate process.
- Run the cross functional innovation meeting and delegate responsibilities accordingly.
- Utilize pricing strategies to guide product development in maintaining gross margin in conjunction with accounting for initial product development.
- Follow up with team members throughout the week to ensure they are completing the tasks assigned to them.
- Support R&D and Supply Chain with administrative needs when sourcing ingredients and obtaining documentation.
- Validate with QC that documentation is reviewed and approved within project timelines.
- Identify operational constraints or limitations when supporting R&D development work.
- Serve as sales operations support by gathering the appropriate information from Supply Chain and Marketing to maintain price lists, spec sheets, sales reports etc.
- Coordinate production needs between sales and supply chain for new item launches and new account gains.
- Working with vendors, coordinate packaging requirements ensuring that the vendors adhere to customer requirements.
- Analyze project data to identify potential issues / problems that could occur prior to finalizing the project schedule and timeline.
Proactively determine a solution to avoid the situation by working with the respective department to ensure that the solution is implemented.
- Coordinate and oversee plant trials including inbound materials, document preparation and interfacing with operations.
- Ensure development costs are captured and booked appropriately with accounting.
- Ensure accuracy of all documentation associated with project including process sheets, BOMs and pricing.
- Be present at plant trials to in conjunction with R&D to document live production results and to assist in assuring that new and renovated items are successful.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of the commercialization process, including product development, manufacturing, and supply chain management.
- Proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in project management software and tools
- Role is on site between our Corporate Office and Main Manufacturing facilities in NJ.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
