Summary
The Sheet Metal Forming I will provide support for the press brake operation.
Responsibilities & Duties :
- Operate multiple brake presses and perform a variety of operations associated with safe and quality production.
- Responsible for powering up, running, feeding, and powering down the applicable equipment.
- Measures product dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation and performs quality inspection of finished product as required by work order.
- May perform first piece inspection to confirm tolerances and dimensions are within specifications.
- Perform general clean-up duties of the equipment and surrounding areas.
- May perform basic material handling duties with the use of manual pallet jack and / or forklift to move material and stage materials.
Essential knowledge & Skills :
- Reads and understands standard and metric clue prints.
- Calculates bend allowances for various material types and thicknesses.
- Selects the proper punch and die tooling.
- Sets-up, adjusts, and operates Brake Press to perform a wide variety of operations on a diversified line of work, including prototype jobs and new parts.
- Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.
- Able to stand, reach, bend, twist, sit, and lift up to 50lbs routinely.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read engineering blue prints.
- Excellent communication skills.
Qualifications / Requirements :
- Minimum 3-5 years of CNC press brake experience.
- High School diploma or GED.
