Position Description

Georgia State University College of Law invites entry-level and junior lateral (pre-tenure) candidates to apply for a tenure-track position to begin no later than the 2025-26 academic year.

The College of Law seeks candidates who research and teach in the area of Constitutional Law. Special consideration will be given to those interested in teaching an additional course in one of the following areas : Professional Responsibility, Evidence, and / or Civil Procedure.

Required Education

Applicants should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.), Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.), Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.), LL.

M. (Master of Laws), or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from an accredited law school (or foreign equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

Applicants seeking the rank of Assistant Professor should demonstrate a track record or promise in teaching and research.

Applicants seeking the rank of Associate Professor must have superior academic credentials and a demonstrated potential for excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service.

Pre-Employment Requirements

A Criminal Background Check is required.

Work Hours

Law Academic / 9-month appointment. Standard work hours to support required workload of 33.3% Teaching, 33.3% Research, and 33.3% service.

Georgia State Law faculty may be required to work non-standard hours including day, evening, online, blended / hybrid, and weekends as determined by the Dean.

Commensurate with rank at appointment
