Gleam Electric is growing and we want you on our team! As a thriving and growing electrical and lighting contracting company with over 6 years in business, we are in search of qualified applicants to assist with our ever growing work load.
We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic apprentice to join our team. The apprentice's responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills, participating in classes and workshops on and offsite, observing all health and safety codes.
You should be well-organized, flexible, and willing to assist wherever possible.
To be successful as an apprentice, you must have great time management skills and be willing to fit into the existing staff structure.
Outstanding apprentices are those who respond well to criticism, build good relationships with colleagues, and ultimately make a lasting impression.
Apprentice Responsibilities :
- Locate and understand basic electrical materials
- Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical components
- Attending workshops, and participating in as many learning opportunities as possible.
- Assisting within the relevant department, but also learning about other aspects of the company.
- Observing health and safety procedures.
- Working in the office and traveling to other sites when required.
- Positively receiving feedback.
- Attending meetings and offering suggestions for improvement.
- Keeping a log of everything learned highly suggested
- Building professional relationships with colleagues and clients
- Above basic knowledge of wiring terminations
- Basic current NEC code knowledge
Apprentice Requirements :
- High school diploma or GED.
- Driver's license recommended.
- 1 to 4 years of infield experience or education equivalent
- Good physical strength and hand-eye coordination may be required.
- Good time management, critical, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- A growth mindset and passion for learning.
- Reliable transportation
- Basic hand tools
- Recommended but not required OSHA 10, Lock out tag out training, first aid and CPR certified
Essential Physical Requirements
- Must be able and willing to work indoors / outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 50-100 pounds
- Must be able to stand on your feet for 8 hours a day
